Otherwise

Though I know you hear my laughter,
I know you hear my cries,
it feels otherwise.
Though you are peace like a river
Joy filling my heart and eyes,
it feels otherwise.
Though I am righteous in my plight
And walk by faith not by sight,
it feels otherwise.
Though I know I’m made to love
And for sin to despise,
it feels otherwise.
Good thing I trust not in what I feel!
For only in this otherwise
Is no truth, simply lies.
For at the end of the day,
In my fall and in my rise,
You are good otherwise.
*** Thank you Jane Kenyon for inspiring me to change my otherwise. ***
