Within the land of my soul there laid a heart of stone,
Upon this stone I settled, convinced it was my throne.
I laid in anguish night after night,
for this heart on which I settled was never meant to be mine.
Till one day, I opened my soul for a Son to shine,
to this land He endowed color,
My soul ablaze with azure sky.
Faith replaced doubts and seeds replaced scars,
So I left that stone and to another gave my heart.
Soon after the sun had shone and the seeds had blossomed,
there came a wind.
Upon this heart of stone that wind began to weather,
A wind as fierce as the Lion yet gentle as a feather.
This wind called grace revealed under the stone a treasure,
T'was a throne for the Most High.
On this throne He reigns,
my dearest King who chose this undeserved heart in which to abide.
Day by day He is my portion, all my want and need,
I merely need take the posture of a servant, lying at his feet.
